Starting point

A slow website that did not reflect the firm’s technical expertise

The corporate website, built on a content management system with dozens of plugins, took more than four seconds to display its main content on mobile. The design did not reflect the consultancy’s specialism or allow projects to be presented in the detail its clients expect.

The site had also built up more than 600 URLs with traffic and backlinks, so any change to its structure carried a high risk of losing rankings.

Goals
  • Convey the consultancy’s technical expertise
  • Load in under one second on mobile
  • Migrate without losing organic traffic
  • Increase contact requests
Approach

What we did

  • 01Architecture and content

A structure by engineering discipline and sector, and project pages with data, scope and results.

  • 02Bespoke development

Static HTML with no unnecessary dependencies, optimised images and self-hosted fonts.

  • 03SEO migration

An inventory of all 600 URLs, a redirect map, structured data and daily monitoring after launch.

  • 04Conversion

Calls to action by discipline, short forms and tracking of every request in analytics.
